Bordeaux glass from the Willsberger series.

24% lead crystal.

This series is characterized by perfectly crafted. For that special occasion a successful feast for the eyes.

The Bordeaux Grand Cru glass is perfect for full-bodied, complex red wines that are high in tannin.

This shape was one of the original 'wine friendly' glasses designed by 9th generation Cluas J. RIEDEL. The generous size of this glass allows the bouquet to develop fully, and smooths out the rough edges. It emphasises the fruit, playing down the bitter qualities of the tannin, and allows wines to achieve balance.

SOMMELIERS, the world’s first wine-friendly glass series, presents itself in new attire. SOMMELIERS BLACK SERIES COLLECTOR'S EDITION is made from black crystal glass. Adding cobalt and manganese turns the crystal glass black. This cools much quicker than transparent glass, posing an additional challenge for the glass makers. The manufacturing process is further complicated because the R-Black Series Collector's Edition has a red glass string overlaid with clear glass. Although the Black Series can obviously be used as a drinking glass, we see it more as a particularly beautiful design object, which highlights the unique styling and proportions of the Sommeliers series. The original Sommeliers series comprised 10 shapes. The shapes were determined by the age of the wine and the various wine qualities. The current glass series was adapted under the aegis of Georg J. RIEDEL, with special glass shapes being developed in workshops. Highly experienced wine experts, such as Robert Parker, or winemakers, such as Gaja, Guigal and Robert Mondavi, contributed their knowledge to help fine-tune the RIEDEL glass shapes. The Sommeliers shapes have since become a benchmark for the industry and are now copied by many other glass manufacturers.

The Burgundy Grand Cru glass is perfect to support the balance of fragility and fresh compact fruit in light-bodied wines.

This shape was one of the original 'wine friendly' glasses designed by 9th generation Cluas J. RIEDEL. The wide tulip shape and slightly flared lip highlights the irresistible sweetness, whilst perfectly balancing the acidity and deemphasizing the alcohol, to create a perfect picture of the wine.

The company Crystalite Bohemia has been producing more resistant glassware thanks to the addition of titanium to the glass melt. As a consequence, glasses are more resistant against mechanical defects and against turning grey even after multiple cycles in the dishwasher. The producer guarantees preservation of glass transparency even after using standard dishwasher programs contrary to other producers, who recommend using more delicate programs suitable for glassware. Thanks to this innovation and its associated glass melt quality, Crystalite Bohemia a.s. ranks amongs the most successful glassware producers in the world.
